Generative AI presents us with an almost infinite spectrum of opportunities and risks. And each implementation comes with a very long and rapidly branching tail of both. I asked GPT-4 to highlight just 30 of these opportunities and their corresponding risks as food for thought and then to follow up with a recommended framework that could be used to navigate the complexity.

While there is much focus on the power or weaknesses in the models themselves, it's worth noting that most of the risk will arise, or be mitigated, in the implementation and utilization of these systems—the human layer. That has almost always been the case with technology, and it won't change here.
