Kenya is calling out Eritrea for arming al-Shabaab. Kenyan Defense Forces spokesman Major E. Chirchir tweeted this earlier:
“TODAY we reliably confirmed that two aircrafts landed in Baidoa with arms consignment intended for Al Shabaab.”
Don’t think that Kenya alone has interest in this. The Kenyans are moving to cut these supply routes on the ground but they can also could obtain intelligence and even interdiction support from a number of quiet partners. It is not clear how far the Kenyans, or others, want to push this at the moment but it bears close attention.
