Clowns and feces bomb hurling progressives are expected to keep these guys way busy:

County court judges have cleared their dockets and no trials will be held during the convention, he said.

Twelve judges will rotate shifts to cover two courtrooms set up to handle arraignments. Two additional judges in the two courtrooms in the city jail building also will be available to handle any overflow, he said.

Courtrooms will be staffed from 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Friday, he said.

“After (the accused) are processed, they will be brought to one of these courtrooms, a judge will hear the case for plea, and bond will be set unless they have already posted bond,” he said.

Six bonding stations will be set up at the courthouse and another six will be at the processing center at 38th Avenue and Steele Street, he said.

“County court’s open but we have no cases docketed,” he said. “We have no officers available because they’ll be working the convention, so judges didn’t schedule any cases for next week. We’ve even closed night court traffic divisions.”

But county court remains open for filing of cases and any other normal court business, he said. “The cashier’s cage remains open as always,” Armatas said.

Judges also will be available for emergency hearings such as restraining orders or landlord-tenant disputes, he said.

The courthouse is expected to be relatively empty next week except for convention business.

This looks like it could be one FUN convention. There’s a great set of links for it on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com. It includes links to the official convention site, the host committee’s site, the “protest” site, places to watch it live online and other convention-related sites.
