Reuter’s has a good roundup of opinions from various security analysts. They seem to be in agreement with what I’ve been saying here. In short, it’s in the interest of both sides to back down from this flare up as quickly as possible. A ton of diplomatic force is being applied, by all major powers, to send these parties back to their respective corners.
