Obama Apologizes for Calling Reporter Peggy Agar “Sweetie”

Peggy Agar’s priceless response pushed Obama into some damage control:

Obama apologized in a voicemail he left on Agar’s cell phone at 3:16 p.m:

“Hi Peggy. This is Barack Obama. I’m calling to apologize on two fronts. One was you didn’t get your question answered and I apologize. I thought that we had set up interviews with all the local stations. I guess we got it with your station but you weren’t the reporter that got the interview. And so, I broke my word. I apologize for that and I will make up for it.

“Second apology is for using the word ‘sweetie.’ That’s a bad habit of mine. I do it sometimes with all kinds of people. I mean no disrespect and so I am duly chastened on that front. Feel free to call me back. I expect that my press team will be happy to try to make it up to you whenever we are in Detroit next.”

He’s a repeat offender too.

this is rediculous. people are stretching and straining to find something to complain about with this man, meanwhile they’re cutting off their nose despite their face. while fighting about such trivialities, (how many times have any of you said sweetie, honey, or whatever other term of endearment to anyone in YOUR life hypocrates?) the supreme court is hanging in the balance (mccain could put more conservatives on the court), our troops need to be brought home, our civil liberties are being obliterated and our country is in shambles. instead of wasting time and energy focusing on things everybody does every day in their lives, i think our energies would be better spent trying to FINALLY AFTER YEARS AND YEARS OF FUMBLES GET THIS PRESIDENCY UNDER A DEMOCRAT. intead we’re constantly being told what to think by the media and what to care about and frankly, i don’t give a fuck, sweetie.

I think this is worth reporting. It shows Obama’s contempt for the press. Of course he used to be happy with them when they were fawning all over him and were starstruck. But now people actually want to ask Obama questions. The nerve of those reporters! So Obama doesn’t need them anymore. He’s just a contemptful, patronizing a-hole and I hope that woman does not accept his “apology.”
