I think Saddam promised the same thing. You have to wonder if they actually believe this stuff – I doubt it:

Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi here on Wednesday warned against any possible military attack against Iran, promising that Iran’s response would be crushing.

“Any country or power which invades Iran will face a crushing response. We will defend our security and our country in the strongest way in case of any possible military attack,” he added.

I believe Iran’s “crushing response” about as much as I believe our own politicians when they tell us how quick, easy, and cheap the war will be! ;)
“UNDERGROUND”, FOCUS LIKE A LASER BEAM, ITS A WORLDWIDE WAR. We’re fighting for the very survival of Western Civilization. There are,and will continue to be, many fronts to this struggle, just like there was in WWI, WWII, and, WWIII(the cold war).
PICK A SIDE, UNDERGROUND, BUT DO US ALL A FAVOR, WILL YOU? PLEASE STAY OUT OF THE “WHISHY WASHY” MIDDLE.
    Thank you, kindly.

Interesting but one should never underestimate ones enemy.

Have we forgotten Pearl harbor? 9/11? Tet Offensive? Battle of the Bulge? Korean War?

Iran if it went up against US military in a set piece battle would get snnihilated…

But a fanatic enemy with a modicum of intelligence does not and will not do this.

Our armored forces are vulnerable in the area which matters most for it: supplies. diesel/jet fuel, water etc.

Hezbollah, and the other fanatics in Iran can make things difficult – is the hyperbole warranted? probably not, but in the tet offensive the VC did not actually defeat the US militarily – just in the TV screens.

    Who controls the media?

Who will get more favorable coverage in US media?

All we would need is to receive 75 casualties per day for 2 months and the heat on US pols would get upped several notches.

    75 *60 = 4500.

    A Battalion is ~1500

All that needs to happen is a few lucky things to happen, and we would be in a world of hurt.
