Comptroller General Sounds the Alarm – Points to the Decline of the Roman Empire

I guess there aren’t a lot of positive trends out there. The long-term simulations aren’t kicking out nice results. In fact, David Walker says the results are “chilling”:
The US government is on a “burning platform” of unsustainable policies and practices with fiscal deficits, chronic healthcare underfunding, immigration and overseas military commitments threatening a crisis if action is not taken soon, the country’s top government inspector has warned.
And who among us does not already know this? The real problem is that we have a political class that’s either out to lunch or lining their pockets coupled with a diversion-obsessed and largely unconcerned electorate.
