The Islamic Republic News Agency is reporting that the latest round of talks is underway:

The third round of tripartite talks on security in Iraq started minutes ago in presence of Iranian, US and Iraqi officials here Monday morning.

The talks are being attended by deputy head of the Iranian delegation, Amir Abdollahian, and his counterparts from the US and Iraq.

The Iranians reportedly want an upgrade:

Political Advisor to Iraq’s prime minister, Sadik al-Rikabi expressed hope on Monday that the tripartite talks on Iraq’s security would be upgraded to ministerial level.

Speaking to reporters, the advisor said the Iraqi government was trying to prepare the grounds for continuation of the talks between officials from Iran, US and Iraq to safeguard security in the war-torn country.

Two rounds of talks have so far been held on May and July 24 at the ambassadorial level with the participation of Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qomi and his US counterpart, Ryan Crocker, as well as senior Iraqi officials.

Apparently they are meeting this morning to scope out a proposed trilateral security committee.
