Ahmadinejad: Iran Seeks to Export Nuclear Fuel

by John Little on 26/05/2007

I’m sure they plan to spread nuclear material far and wide:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday that Iran will turn into an exporter of nuclear fuel.

According to the Press Department of presidential office, Ahmadinejad added, “We will not only continue the work on centrifuges, but will also increase the fuel cycle to become an exporter of nuclear fuel.” Speaking in a meeting with the families of martyrs and war veterans of the Islamic Republic, he underlined that Iranians will not back down even one step from their indisputable rights in the field of civilian nuclear activities.

The president described progress in nuclear program as ‘movement of a train’ without any back gear and break, but its steering-wheel is on the hands of competent humans.

But wait – there’s more:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday that `bullying powers’ will succumb to the will of Iranian nation soon.

President Ahmadinejad made the remark while addressing people of Khonsar, Isfahan province, at the head of the 29th provincial tour of his cabinet, adding that the powers should abandon their bad behaviors such as issuing resolutions against Iranians in the near future.

“The powers’ attempts to impede nuclear activities of Iran will put them in a worse situation and instead, improve condition and power of power of Iranians internationally,” he added.

“The nuclear train of Iran has started moving; nuclear program of the country belongs to nobody or group; therefore, all nations should be aware of the fact that Iranians will not back down from their rights even one iota.”

“Had your missiles, warships and planes been able to do anything, they would have saved you from Iraq quagmire,” he said, adding, “You should know that the era of such acts is over.”
Pointing to Iraq occupiers’ claim of restoring democracy to the country, the president said that the bullying powers are unable even to save their troops from the quagmire.

I still think the “nuclear train of Iran” is going to jump the rails before the fall of 2008. But he may be right. He has powerful allies in Republican incompetence and Democratic weakness.
