Blogs of War readers probably missed this holiday event:

Who: All are invited to come sign holiday cards—bring colorful pens!
What: Card signing for the 390 men and women on Texas death row
When: Tuesday, November 28 and Tuesday, December 5, from 6-10 PM
Where: S.H.A.P.E. Center, 3815 Live Oak in Houston’s Third Ward
Why: To let those on death row know they are remembered at the holiday season by abolitionists, family and friends.
Bring: A colorful writing instrument and some yummy food to share and join in the holiday fun, solidarity and sharing.

I’m sure your hearts are warmed by the notion that someone could rape and dismember somebody without fear that they would be forgotten at Christmas. At least it wasn’t well attended:
