This is from my nephew serving in Iraq. We should all have this understanding before we decide to vote.

“I just read about Washington Mutual getting bought by the gov’t. What the hell is goin on in our country and our economy. I was thinking the other day that every great civilization in the history of the world has peaked, fallen, and fizzled out. Maybe its just our time. I hope thats not the fact though. Anyways I continue to try to stay out of the politics because it doesnt change the fact that I have a job to do and there will be a war on terrorism for God only knows how long. I just hope that our next commander in chief knows the price of war on a personal level, and not just from what the news reel tells and movies show. Maybe then decisions made effecting my life as well as the lives of my brothers in arms will be made with a stronger knowledge of what the cost really is. But then again there are millions of people that will vote for the man who looks like them because that makes them feel better. But on the front lines it doesnt matter what color your skin is, what country your family is from, or whom you call God. All that matters is that you are wearing the same uniform, under the same flag, and you will do whatever it takes to get that person back home. I just wished more people would realize that and not vote or not vote for somebody just because of the color of their skin. But Im just a dumb grunt so what do I know, right?”
