Lebanese Ambassador: Iran is Lebanon’s Best Friend
by John Little on 3/08/2006They’re BFF! Um, yeah. Well, I guess it’s actually not very funny.
The Lebanese diplomat said the Israel regime’s attacks had been a well-orchestrated move.
He cited an article, published in an Israeli daily in 1982, as saying Israel’s strategic interests in the coming years will go beyond Israeli border, covering north African states, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and part of Egypt.
Mansoor said resistance against aggression is the only option left today for the Lebanese nation and it is proved to a very successful method of repelling Israeli invasions and expansionism.
He than thanked the Iranian people for supporting Lebanese resistance, saying Lebanon is now considering the Islamic Republic of Iran as its best friend.
They just might be saying this to scare the crap out of the West. Hoping that fears of further radicalization in Lebanon will make a cease-fire more attractive. Unfortunately, the simplest answer is usually the right one. And that’s bad news for us.
