Moron Alert
by John Little on 9/11/2002Earth on Empty is on an anti-SUV crusade. In protest they are encouraging people to leave rant-filled “tickets” on the windshields of SUVs. I doubt that they are doing this in Texas since the streets aren’t littered with the bodies of dirty hippies. Anyway, that is beside the point. What I want you to do is examine the incredibly flawed thought process emplyed by these morons. The following exchange can be found on their responses page:
SUV Owner: “I need an SUV because I have four kids and six dogs.”
Earth on Empty: Right. You “need” the SUV as much as you “need” to have 4 kids and 6 dogs. Both were choices, and both were selfish – we’re not going to feel sorry for you because you have to show some responsibility for the choices you’ve made. That’s what being an adult is all about. You could have made the responsible choice to limit the size of your family, and to have one small pet, but you CHOSE not to – you were not forced to buy an SUV. That the only thing you’ve received is a little ticket is insulting to those of us who CHOOSE to live responsible lives that produce a minimal impact on the environment, and who CHOOSE to organize their lives in such a way as to not require the use of a monster truck to get by.
Could that response be any more patronizing? First of all how do they know that she chose to have four kids? Maybe they aren’t aware of the whole multiple-births phenomena. Then again maybe she choose to adopt these children from some flea infested third world hellhole that even Sally Struthers wouldn’t visit. The same goes for the pets. Maybe she has 6 dogs because she uses them for animal therapy. Maybe she rescued them from a shelter which you surely oppose. Maybe, just maybe, you don’t have a freakin’ clue about how this woman lives her life.
The response from Earth on Empty gets to the real heart of the matter here. They want to control your life. Right down to the number and size of your pets. In embracing these marxists the Democratic Party is only erasing what little goodwill the American people have for their party. Earth on Empty, PETA, and others either create bogus issues or hijack others as a front to push forward their anti-American, anti-capitalist, freedom robbing agenda.
Can you believe that this is what the Democrats are embracing in 2002? The only question now is how many centrist Democrats will bail on this party before 2004.
